WASHINGTON, DC -- Automated Merchandising Systems and Vagabond Vending have announced that AMS's Touchless vending machine is now ready for preorder. AMS designed the vender for "touchless" patron actuation with a smartphone running Vagabond's vīv app. Therefore, the machine has no onboard payment system, so it does not need a side panel to support the user interface. This increases the width of the shelves and the impact of the glassfront display. All purchases are made through Vagabond's embedded vīv commerce platform.

The partnership between AMS and Vagabond has resulted in a unique machine that provides 20% more product capacity in the same footprint as AMS's traditional 5-wide Ambient Snack, while eliminating the components that cause 80% to 90% of machine service calls. The AMS Touchless machine was demonstrated at the 2017 Atlantic Coast Exposition.

The new AMS vender comes off the line wrapped in vīv's aesthetic styling to further promote the vīv touchless vending commerce platform. Operators can customize the machine's graphics to suit their needs if placing substantial orders for the machine.

AMS distributors are now taking preorders for the AMS Touchless machine. It's expected to begin shipping at the end of January.

vīv is a B2B and B2C commerce app that helps businesses connect with their local communities. viv not only can replace the payment system and selector of a vending machine; it also can be used by a bakery selling bread to a restaurant, or by a brewery delivering growlers and merch to targeted consumers of age, or by an operator selling office, breakroom or janitorial, supplies to existing accounts. Vagabond explains that vīv for vending machines and micromarkets enables businesses to delight consumers while establishing direct relationships between brands, retailers and consumers.
