AMS Streamlines Sales Organization To Improve Efficiency, Readies Frozen Food Machine For Midsummer Rollout

KEARNEYSVILLE, WV -- Automated Merchandising Systems Inc. announced a new structure to its sales organization that officials say will speed internal communication and ultimately enhance customer service. 

The machine manufacturer's regional sales managers will now report directly to AMS president Sharon Shull.

"Our regional managers are all veterans of the vending industry and each of them knows exactly how to take care of our customers," Shull said. "It's not like we train people on the job; they are truly regional managers who have the knowledge and experience to support our customers."

In cases where an executive decision is required, AMS regional managers will now have the benefit of immediate communication directly with Shull. AMS customer service manager Rob Lewis and his staff are also committed to providing prompt, expert support to the sales group.

The four AMS regional managers remain the same, with Tim Paul dedicated to serving the Southeast; Mike Butler handling sales in the Northeast; Jeff Beyer heading up upper Midwest sales efforts; and Tom Hutchison serving as the western regional manager.

AMS-Europe, headquartered in Wolverhampton, England, has also expanded its sales organization with distributors in England, Belgium and New Zealand. The new distributors extend the manufacturer's international reach beyond current distribution in Northern Ireland, Israel and Australia.

Separately, AMS recently enhanced its popular Sensit glassfront snack machine lineup with added features that include scrolling price labels and optional LED lighting. The new featues are available on all of the manufacturer's venders currently in production. Additionally, a versatile new multi-temperature food machine that adds frozen capability to AMS's machine portfolio is set to ship in midsummer.

The new frozen, which will be equipped with AMS's patented Sensit guaranteed delivery system, runs on 120VAC and can be powered from a 15-A. circuit. Its temperature control offers four options, which AMS calls "frozen" (-10°F. to 1°F.), "slacked" (15°F. to 25°F.), "low temp" (36°F. to 40°F.) and "snack" (42°F. to 75°F.). It incorporates a self-contained chilling unit for ease of service, and features efficient "hot-gas" defrosting.

When configured for maximum capacity, the new AMS frozen vender accommodates eight selections on each of its five shelves. It measures 39 ins. wide by 35-3⁄4 ins. deep.

Automated Merchandising Systems was founded in 1997 by vending pioneer Roy Steeley, who came out of retirement to design and prototype the Sensit glassfront snack vender in a garage in Charles Town, WV. It now produces an extensive range of equipment. In addition to Sensit Snack machines, now offered in 35- and 39-in. cabinet widths, the line includes Visi-Combo, designed to vend snacks as well as cold, bottled beverages; Visi-Diner, a health switch-protected refrigerated food machine; the similar Milk Machine, vending perishable packaged dairy and other cold beverages; and the Bottle & Food Combo vender, which can offer both perishable cold drinks and fresh food.
