STREAMWOOD, IL -- American Pinball Inc. has taken the wraps off its Oktoberfest pinball machine. The company previewed the game at Pinball Expo in Chicago last fall. After getting feedback to improve the game from pinball enthusiasts across the globe, American Pinball is now shipping the new machine to operators and collectors worldwide.
Oktoberfest is the follow-up to American Pinball's Houdini Pinball Machine, which brought the world of Houdini to both pinball and magic enthusiasts around the world in 2018.  The new Oktoberfest game will allow players to experience the world-famous Oktoberfest festival year round with "Pinball on Tap." Players will travel around the festival, visiting more than a dozen tents, and collecting steins for various bonuses while enjoying music, food and drink, to round out the ultimate Oktoberfest adventure.
Unique gameplay features include multiple wireform ramps and the Corkscrew Rollercoaster ramp, which has twin loops and a zig-zag section, the Shack & Beer Barrel feature with three-ball lock mechanisms, and Otto the Bartender, an interactive toy.
Players will advance through gameplay with the help of three flippers, three pop bumpers, three slingshots, a ramp that raises and lowers and four magnets, two of which are player-controlled with MagNab cabinet buttons. The MagNab cabinet buttons will also allow players to control both flippers with one hand so they can hold a beverage in the other and enjoy the full features of the game.
Rule features include five multiballs, including the beer barrel and corkscrew multiballs; 14 tent modes, including a video mode and four mini-wizard mode; beer stein powerups to assist players towards objectives and increase scoring; a food stand scoring accelerator with two special modes; three mini-wizard modes; and an Uber-Wizard mode. Plus, lots of ducks.
Complementing the gameplay experience and immersive theme, cabinet features include a real backglass, custom Oktoberfest-themed art and music, a 15" full color LCD with 1366 x 768 resolution, six powerful stereo speakers, plus an 8" cabinet subwoofer.
"We are very proud of our entire team" said American Pinball president and chief executive Dhaval Vasani. "We can't wait for players to experience all the fun of being at Oktoberfest when they play this game. We have created a game that will be enjoyed equally by families and professional players, in homes, amusement centers and [game bars], for many years to come."
