PORT HURON, MI -- All Star Services Inc. has deployed Cantaloupe Systems' hosted and mobile-optimized Seed Office vending management system to improve productivity in the office and in the field.

With the move to Seed Office, Port Huron, MI-based All Star's drivers now use Seed Mobile, a driver handheld app for Apple iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad devices designed to boost driver efficiency and lower equipment costs.

All Star's finance department now uses Seed Office to count money, track cash accountability, calculate commissions and report on sales and financials, along with other back-office tasks.

Using Seed Office's Web-based drag-and-drop dispatch interface, All Star's service department relies on Seed Office to proactively detect machine problems, record service calls from customers, and dispatch work to technicians.

The company's warehouse department now uses Seed Office to track receiving, manage inventory, and ensure end-to-end product accountability.

Duncan Smith, All Star's vice-president of operations said Seed Office has allowed the company to eliminate many manual steps on the backend and give staff easier-to-use tools to manage the business.

"My favorite feature of Seed Office is the real-time inventory updates through the iPhone, as it helps us to more accurately schedule our machines and routes," Smith said. "But, my most memorable moment of the migration occurred when the office staff discovered pictures of the machines showing up in Seed as drivers serviced their machines, made possible by Seed Mobile's Photo Audit feature."

Allen Lwin, product manager for Seed Office said All Star has used Cantaloupe's dynamic scheduling, pre-kitting, merchandising and cashless solutions before migrating to its vending management system.

"The best part of helping bring clients like All Star onto Seed Office is seeing the staff realize that their IT has just gotten simpler, once they see the pile of old brick style handhelds, cradles, servers, and DEX cables that are stacked up in a corner of the room, never to be used again," said Lwin.
