ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- The American Amusement Machine Association announced on June 16 that it's supporting the inaugural Digital Out-of-Home Interactive Entertainment (DOE) Network Association conference.

The DNA Conference, as it's called, is said to be the first UK symposium dedicated to the DOE sector. It will be held on July 14 at the 1 Victoria Street Conference Centre.

It's being organized by Martine Parry of Parry Alexander Ltd. and Kevin Williams of KWP Ltd., with support from UK Trade & Investment, a government agency that promotes and aids UK-based businesses. American Randy White of White Hutchinson Leisure & Learning Group will deliver the keynote address. | SEE NEWS RELEASE

The  conference's six sessions will cover new trends and technologies relevant to manufacturers, suppliers and operators involved in video amusements, interactive simulators, content delivery, kiosks and digital hospitality. The program will also shed light on emerging DOE segments (and some of the best portmanteau words we've heard in a long time) like edutainment, exergaming, kidtainment, retailtainment and videmption.

AAMA is among some two-dozen supporters of the DNA Conference. The European Amusement and Gaming Expo (EAG) added its name to the prestigious sponsor list in early June.

"AAMA's support is a greatly appreciated demonstration of confidence from the American amusement trade in this one-day conference," said event director Kevin Williams.

"The DOE sector is an amorphous amalgam of different approaches towards the same goal of digital out-of-home entertainment," Williams added. "Amusement is a part of this mix, but not the whole. The conference will also be looking at interactive attractions, exergaming and game kiosks, among other new platforms, as well as those companies that develop the content and operate the systems."
