365 Retail Markets Plans Launch For New Micromarket Technology

TROY, MI -- On display at the National Automatic Merchandising Association's upcoming OneShow in Las Vegas will be the latest micromarket from 365 Retail Markets, incorporating what the company described as "game-changing technology."

According to the manufacturer, it is building smarter and smarter micromarkets by responding to trends in the vending industry and the needs of today's operators, especially by incorporating feedback from the company's existing customers. This responsiveness is enabling 365 Retail Markets to develop new products, services and enhancements that will be launched throughout 2013.

The first of these will be demonstrated at OneShow. The manufacturer explained that micromarkets have proven extremely attractive to vending operators, initially because a basic micromarket can be installed in the same amount of space as a few vending machines.

This was the case with 365's first SmartHub kiosk, introduced in 2010. Despite its size advantage when compared to a bank of vending machines, it was a large apparatus, delivered on a full-sized pallet and set up by an installation team. The second-generation SmartHub, launched in mid-2011, improved on the first model by upgrading the barcode scanner and fingerprint reader while, at the same time, offering operators the choice of mounting the kiosk to a countertop or a wall. This streamlining accelerated operator adoption, according to 365officials.

"We look forward to continuing our tradition of delivering even more features in a lot less space, allowing the emerging micromarket industry to grow at an even faster pace over the next year," the manufacturer reported. "365's announcement will allow you to place a micromarket in places you never thought possible, while delivering the same innovative 365 experience your customers have come to expect."

The steady acceleration of operator demand for micromarkets is fueling 365's growth. "2012 was the breakout year for our company -- and our micromarket technology -- across the U.S. and Canada," said chief executive officer Joseph Hessling. As a result, the company added 17 employees to its team this January and plans to add more in the coming months.

This recruiting initiative in December 2012 occurred while the Michigan unemployment rate was at 8.9%. Many of the new employees were excited about joining the company after attending a career open house highlighting 365 Retail Markets technology.

"By chance, I saw a post on LinkedIn about an open house at 365 Retail Markets and decided to check it out," said Mary Ellen Seymour, who now serves as 365 Retail Markets iCash manager. "Attending the open house was the best decision I have ever made."

"I have spent nearly 20 years in software development, and find the 365 Retail Markets attitude towards customer service extremely refreshing," added Cliff Dabrowski, 365 Retail Markets lead programmer. "The 365 Retail Markets executive team understands that success is measured by happiness, starting with our customers and ending with ourselves."

With a staff doubled in size and groundbreaking product launches on the horizon, 365 Retail Markets believes it is positioned to remain an industry leader in 2013 -- and beyond.

It will demonstrate its newest product in booth No. 622 at the OneShow, which will take place from April 24 through 26 at Las Vegas's Venetian Resort and Sands Expo Convention Center.
