AMI Entertainment, TouchTunes, jukebox, vending Based on more than 950 million songs played across its network of 57,000 jukeboxes, TouchTunes reported that country music dominated the top 10 songs in 2012. Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem" was the most played song for the second consecutive year. Additionally, Aldean was the most played artist overall, closely followed by jukebox favorites AC/DC and Kid Rock.

"I'm thrilled to be the most played artist on TouchTunes this year, and to learn that 'Dirt Road Anthem' was the No. 1 song for a second year in a row," Aldean said. "Knowing that the real people across America are choosing my music while they're out having fun at the kind of hangouts where I got my start is a great thing."

Eric Church's "Drink in my Hand," Little Big Town's "Pontoon," Luke Bryan's "Country Girl (Shake it for Me)" and Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup," in that order, followed Aldean's hit in the top 5.

Pop music also did well in 2012. Carly Rae Jepsen's hit "Call Me Maybe" was the most-played song among TouchTunes' mobile app users. Released in 2010, the app has been downloaded more than one million times and allows users to find TouchTunes locations and control the jukebox from their phones.

According to TouchTunes year-end data, the feud between One Direction and The Wanted has also been decided among jukebox users. With 70,000 more songs played on jukeboxes in 2012, One Direction reigns over its British rivals.

On the AMI Entertainment Network, 2012's most played songs came from a variety of genres, from country and pop to electronica and classic rock. But the honor of AMI's most-played song also went to Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem," from his hit album My Kinda Party. Nickelback's "Rockstar" came in at No. 2, followed by Eric Church's "Drink in My Hand" at No. 3. Party-rockers LMFAO, with "Sexy And I Know It," and country star Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar" round out AMI's top 5.

Some new artists and albums also arrived on AMI jukeboxes in 2012. The hottest new album on the network was fun.'s Some Nights, featuring the hit singles "We Are Young," "Some Nights" and "Carry On." Tyga's Careless World: Rise of the New King, Skrillex's Bangarang EP and Flo Rida's Wild Ones were among the others that topped the list of AMI's most-played new albums. Despite coming out relatively late in the year, K-Pop star Psy's "Gangnam Style" was No. 8 among new albums.

While current artists like Eric Church and Jason Aldean featured prominently in the overall list of most popular albums, it was classic country star Johnny Cash who came out on top, AMI reported. The legendary country star's career-spanning 16 Biggest Hits (1999), released by Sony Records, won the No. 1 spot as AMI's most-played album.
