MIAMI -- As Florida braced to take a devastating direct hit from Hurricane Irma, Miami's Gilly Vending Inc. issued a statement on Sept. 8, assuring its customers that it was prepared to keep connected with any of them who remain capable of reaching out.

The category 4 hurricane that blew ashore this past weekend with 130 mph winds, hammered the southern half of the state, flooding streets, spawning tornadoes and knocking out power to millions of people. It weakened to a tropical storm this morning as it moved across northern Florida with 85 mph winds.

"Our customer care lines will continue operating 24/7 as usual with fully operational call centers in states outside of the affected areas," Gilly Vending said in a statement. "Gilly teams will be working across the country to make sure your services remain seamless and connected. If you notice a service interruption, please know that we will be monitoring our customers status' utilizing Gilly's state-of-the-art systems. Technicians will be on standby to restore your services expeditiously."
