Amazon is testing Kindle Kiosks as a way to get closer to consumers in the world of physical retail. Merchandised with Fire tablets, Kindle e-readers and device accessories, the kiosks are made by Zoom Systems, which makes similar automated retail machines for Best Buy and other prominent brands.

An Amazon spokesperson told Wired magazine that the machines have been out since November, and are installed at a variety of locations, including airports, event venues and shopping malls.
