National Dart Association

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The Amusement and Music Operators Association-National Dart Association elected three new directors during its annual meeting, held in conjunction with the League SMART educational conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Suites near the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.

Joining the board are Dusty Hall, league coordinator for Lorain Music & Vending (Lorain, OH); Mary Lavine, owner of Bullseye Games (Madison, WI); and Stefan Reichert, president of DSAB-e.v. (Waldalgesheim, Germany).

Hall is a certified referee for both NDA and the Valley National 8-Ball League Association, working at Ohio Coin Machine Association tournaments as a referee, and running brackets. He also is active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and has served as post commander of the local VFW in Shelby, OH.

Lavine presently serves as first vice-president of AMOA, and is immediate past-president of the Wisconsin Amusement & Music Operators Association; she has been a member of WAMO's dart committee for the past 14 years. She is active in the location community, too, participating in Meals on Wheels and running leagues for community organizations.

Reichert is a 25-year coin-op veteran who presently serves on the boards of both NDA and VNEA. He also has served as second mayor of his town and on its board of directors, and as commander of its fire brigade.

The NDA board of directors went on to elect new officers for the coming year. Chosen president is Judy Mehle, BMW Billiards (Fort Collins, CO); Lloyd Williamson, Williamson Sugarloaf Amusement (Winona, MN), becomes vice-president; and Alvin Gerlach, Hub Music & Vending Co. (Aberdeen, SD), is secretary-treasurer.

NDA is an international trade association of coin-op vending companies representing some 300 member operations and 250,000 players around the world. The new League SMART educational conference was a combination of NDA's Dart Summit and VNEA's Charter Holder Workshop, designed to teach successful business practices for operations engaged in organizing and administering leagues and staging tournaments for coin-op game players. Plans call for staging League SMART biennially.
