DUNDEE, IL -- AMOA's Wayne E. Hesch Scholarship program had raised $13,800 through raffle ticket sales by the time the organization named two early winners on Sept. 24. Emily Dunn of Tom's Amusement (Blue Ridge, GA) and Tim Daly of Awe Vending and Amusement (St. Paul, MN) each won a $500 cash prize.

The drawing took place at AMOA's midyear board meeting in Avon, CO. | SEE STORY

The main Hesch program drawing will take place on March 22 at the Amusement Expo in Las Vegas. The grand prize is a brand new Dodge Charger. AMOA said the winner need not be present to claim the prize.

Since its inception in 1985, the Hesch program has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships. Named in memory of the late 1979 AMOA president Wayne E. Hesch, it raises funds through raffles held each year. Applicants must gain an endorsement from an AMOA member company, and many scholarship recipients have worked in -- or are related to someone engaged in - the coin-op business.

Applications for the Wayne E. Hesch Scholarship are accepted through January each year. The form is available by calling AMOA or by downloading it from this website. Winners are announced in the spring.
