SAYERVILLE, NJ -- Amid a tight, high-priced textile market, Coast to Coast Entertainment announced cost reductions for its plush products for cranes and redemption. The company is offering new mixes at unit prices as low as 95¢ for 7" to 11" plush merchandise.
Like other suppliers dependent on the prices of cotton and polyester, Coast to Coast had to pass along increased costs to its customers last year. Plush items typically include cotton fiber in the outer shell and polyester materials as filler. Cotton prices began to spike in the second half of 2010, and as they rose, demand for synthetic substitutes increased, and so did the cost.
While the cotton market has stabilized somewhat, prices remain high. Coast to Coast said it was able to negotiate better pricing with its overseas factory by increasing its order volumes. "Our methodology is simple," explained Coast to Coast's Jenny Dumervé, "we buy more and spend less, so we can pass the savings onto our customers."
A prime attraction of Coast to Coast's plush business is free freight on all orders, which the New Jersey company said it will continue to offer. Its regular mixes include 150 pieces; jumbo varieties are packed in 96-ct. boxes.
