SAN JOSE, CA -- The San Jose City Council voted last week to require that city vending machines be stocked with even more healthier snacks.

The new ordinance requires that 75% of snacks in vending machines meet "healthy" guidelines, up from the 50% requirement put in place in 2006.

The city council rejected a proposal earlier this year to ban soda and whole milk from vending machines installed on city property.
