TouchTunes Debuts Robin Thicke Blurred Lines
On July 30, Robin Thicke released his highly anticipated new album, Blurred Lines, on TouchTunes. The Los Angeles native began his music career at the age of 16, writing and producing tracks for artists like Brandy, Color Me Badd and Brian McKnight. By 21, Thicke had worked as a writer/producer on over 20 gold or platinum records for musical superstars including Michael Jackson, P!nk and Christina Aguilera. In 2003, Thicke released his solo debut, A Beautiful World, to critical acclaim. His sophomore release, 2006's The Evolution of Robin Thicke, was the singer's true breakthrough, spawning the huge hit single "Lost Without You," which topped four Billboard charts upon release. Five Finger Death Punch New Album on TouchTunes
Five Finger Death Punch's 4th studio record, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, debuted on TouchTunes, July 30. The heavy metal band debuted their first album under an indie record label and got their start touring in support of rock superstars Korn in 2007. In 2009, the band released their sophomore album, War Is the Answer, which debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200. This month, Five Finger Death Punch gears up to release a brand new record, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 1. The first installment in a two-part release, the band will follow up with Volume 2 in fall 2013. Michael Franti Releases All People
July 30 marked the release of Michael Franti's 8th studio album, All People, on TouchTunes. Franti, originally from Oakland, has had an extraordinarily diverse career spanning almost 30 years. Originally in an industrial punk and spoken word band called 'The Beatnigs,' Franti spent time exploring musical genres and instruments. His next project was 'The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy,' an eclectic group of jazz musicians and electronic artists that fused their talents to create socially conscious music. In 1994, the musician/poet formed his current band, Michael Franti & Spearhead, which features Franti as front man and continues the singer's longtime effort to advocate social justice through music. Franti's newest album, All People, debuts on TouchTunes July 30th and features the single, "I'm Alive (Life Sounds Like)," an anthemic track encouraging self-love.
