COLOGNE, Germany -- The 2013 staging of Anuga is set for Oct. 5-9 at the Cologne Trade Fair Grounds. The biennial show is among the world's leading food industry events; the 2011 edition attracted more than 6,700 exhibitors from nearly 100 countries, and was reportedly attended by some 155,000 industry members from all parts of the globe.
Anuga exhibits are categorized into 10 segments, essentially specialized trade shows brought together under one roof. Categories include finger foods, gourmet products and regional specialties, halal foods, and health and functional foods, along with ingredients, kosher products, organic items, private-label foods and vegetarian products. For the first time this year, foods formulated with fair-trade products will be at Anuga.
The show is organized by Cologne's trade show management organization, Koelnmesse GmbH, and the Bundesverband der Deutschen Lebensmittelhandels e.V. (Federal Association of the German Food Trade). Its conceptual sponsor is the Bundesvereinigung der Deutschen Ernährungsindustrie e.V. (Confederation of German Food Industry), with the Deutscher Hotel- und Gaststättenverband e.V. (German Hotel and Restaurant Association).
