SALEM, VA -- Medeco High Security Locks has announced the addition of remote key programming administration to its hosting solutions for CLIQ Web Manager, and remote wall programming devices for its Logic and M3 Logic lock lines.

CLIQ Web Manager provides flexible Web-based key and lock administration. Key administrators can log into the system to manage resources remotely -- across the globe, if necessary.

Complementing these Web-hosted services are two new "remote-wall" programming devices, offered in both Logic and M3 Logic keyway designs. Both allow administrators of Web-hosted systems to program, audit and schedule timely key expirations for personnel in the field, without having to recall keys from those distant keyholders. With a Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection, the remote-wall programming devices can communicate with the secure Web server from anywhere. Where PoE is not available, the Remote Wall PDs are adaptable to standard power connections, and can be accessed over a standard Internet connection.

"Security management administrators may now program eCylinder keys from anywhere, anytime, without having to visit the opening," said Joseph Kingma, director of eCylinder business development. The new functionality supports companies requiring cloud-based software solutions.

Remote programming is said to be ideal for installations that span large geographic areas, or where access to keys or openings can be inconvenient.

Founded in 1968, Medeco is a market leader in mechanical and electronic locks and locking systems for security, safety and control.

Medeco is part of the ASSA Abloy Group, an international manufacturer and supplier of locking solutions. It has about 30,000 employees and annual sales of approximately $3.9 billion.

These modules mount on the wall of a workstation and communicate with a main-office computer through the CLIQ hosted application. The administrator can use a control ("C") key and a master programming device connected to the office computer to reprogram keys in the field -- change validations, specify the lock cylinders that the key can access, schedule authorization by time and date -- and, in return, receive the audit and event data from each key. The keyholder at the remote workstation can follow the progress of the reprogramming by watching the indicator symbols on the front panel of the wall programming device.
