SALEM, VA -- Now available from Medeco is the M100 eCylinder, featuring the company's Aperio wireless lock technology. It is designed to simplify adding central access control to mechanical mortise locks on interior facility doors.
Medeco, an Assa Abloy company, noted that Aperio is a global wireless platform that enables IEEE 802.15.4 wireless local area communication between an Aperio hub and the locking devices it controls. This is said to offer facilities managers an easy, affordable way to connect additional openings to an existing electronic access control system.
In the United States, the Aperio security line also includes Adams Rite A100 keyless entry control for aluminum and glass storefront doors, HES K100 cabinet locks, and Sargent IN100 and PR100 commercial and institutional locks. Supporting real-time authentication and alarms, Aperio uses AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) 128-bit wireless encryption, and supports HID Global's 125 KHz prox or 13.56 MHz iClass secure identity credentials.
Assa Abloy won the 2013 Building Operating Management Top Products Award for its Aperio wireless lock technology. Award-winners were chosen by building and facility executives who participated in a national survey. Aperio was chosen from among 560 products entered in the competition.
