CARY, NC -- The Pantry Inc. is piloting Vendgogh LLC's beverage vending system at fuel islands in several of its Kangaroo Express-branded stores in Raleigh and Durham, NC.
Vendgogh's vending systems are integrated with the Kangaroo Express point-of-sale system, giving customers the opportunity to purchase fuel and cold drinks with a single swipe of their credit or debit cards without leaving the fuel island. Customers are prompted to add a beverage to their order during the fuel purchase process: the drink is dispensed at the fuel island.
"This is another option we are testing to serve our on-the-go guests," said John Fisher, an operations vice-president at The Pantry and Kangaroo Express.
With more than 1,600 stores in 13 states, The Pantry Inc., based in Cary, NC, is the leading independently operated c-store chain in the southeastern U.S. and one of the largest in the country.
Vendgogh's first gas-island vending system went online in June 2010. The Cary, NC-based company also has vending machines on service islands at WilcoHess in North Carolina, Douglass Distributing in Texas and Murphy Oil in Georgia, Arkansas and North Carolina.
