SALEM, VA -- Medeco High Security Locks is now offering Web-hosting solutions that permit system administrators to program electronic keys for Medeco's eCylinder locks from nearly any location.
The remote programming devices for Medeco's Logic or Nexgen XT keys connect to SSL-encrypted servers. When a key is placed in the programming device it automatically uploads audit information and downloads new access rights without the requiring the key holder to interface with the software or the Internet. If desired, key permissions can be set to expire at predetermined dates and times. Key holders can then retrieve new access rights from one of the unattended programming devices.
"Security management professionals can now remotely program keys and retrieve audit information automatically without having to visit the opening, ideal for installations that span large geographic areas or where access to keys or openings may be inconvenient," said Joseph Kingma, director of eCylinder business development.
He added that Medeco's Web-hosting solutions can provide support for any size operation, whether it needs five or 50,000 keys.
