MALVERN, PA -- MEI has moved to a brand-new 60,000-sq.ft. building located seven miles from its former home in West Chester, PA. The relocation was completed in early December.
The new complex was created by local design firm D2 Solutions and a team of MEI associates. Its open office floor plan is designed to foster greater collaboration and communication. Designed environmentally, it houses state-of-the-art laboratories for engineering and technical support, as well as a training center for customers and associates.
"After 30-plus years, a bit of nostalgia arose when it was time to leave our West Chester facility," said MEI chief executive Mike Hayes. "However, once associates saw the space and the special MEI-branded details placed throughout the office, there was an overwhelming sense of pride. Our new headquarters lays the perfect foundation to showcase our technology and foster innovation for the 21st century."
MEI's new address is 3222 Phoenixville Pike, Ste. 200, Malvern, PA 19355. Telephone and email information is unchanged, with the exception of the corporate fax number, which is now (610) 918-8898.
MEI developed its first electronic coin mechanism in the 1960s, followed by the first electronic noncontact bill validator, and recently has added cashless card capability and vending management solutions. In 2010, MEI reached a milestone of selling more than 4 million bill acceptors and 5 million coin mechanisms worldwide. Its products are used extensively in the vending, soft drink, amusement, kiosk, gaming, retail and transport markets.
