BRUSSELS, Belgium -- The European Vending Association will conduct its General Meeting here on Dec. 13 and 14, and has scheduled a workshop for Dec. 14. The workshop's topic is "A European Strategy for Vending," continuing the discussion begun at EVA's "Image of Vending" workshop in 2010.
The association reports that there has been a growing demand for the EVA to lead a communication campaign promoting the image of vending as a value channel, and to take action to promote the growth of the industry. EVA now has completed a market study for 2010 and 2011, which provides sufficient market and consumer information to define a strategic plan for vending in the coming years.
"We will discuss how vending can be promoted to the end consumer, government agencies and stakeholders, by centralizing the message and making better use of the resources available at the EVA," an official explained. "In short, with all the knowledge and the technologies at hand, how do we move from Vending 2012 to Vending 2020?"
The Annual General Meeting will be held at the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie, with a reception and dinner on the evening of the 13th at Chalet Robison. Registration will open early in September.
The European Vending Association, established in 1994, represents the continent's vending industry before the supragovernmental bodies and institutions of the European Union. Its members include 20 national associations and more than 70 companies active in all industry segments.
