ATLANTA -- New from Innovolt is the H1000 power protection appliance, designed to guard equipment from variations in electrical power. The latest implementation of Innovolt's Remote Optimization Control technology, the H1000 is designed for installations with equipment hardwired rather than plugged into the power supply.
The new appliance joins Innovolt's Power Protector and Power Manager systems, several of which were shown at this year's National Automatic Merchandising Association OneShow (see VT, June). The company sees vending and automated teller machines as equipment types for which power conditioning and monitoring is especially beneficial.
Innovolt reports that one of the most common issues impairing equipment reliability is power variation. Unpredictable fluctuation in supply -- excess power in the form of surges and spikes, and insufficient power during sags and brownouts -- are major contributors to equipment failure and consequent costly downtime.
The new Innovolt H1000 guards machines from the damaging effects of voltage fluctuations. It serves as an EMI/RFI filter for power lines, and is fitted with dry relay contacts that sense the presence or loss of AC output. The appliance also offers diagnostic capabilities including real-time-clock-based time stamping and neutral-to-ground voltage sensing.
Like other Innovolt power-protection devices, the H1000 can communicate through Innovolt's Management Cloud program. Introduced this summer, that program offers customers the ability to receive and analyze key information, including the type and frequency of power-related events at each location.
