Elk Grove Village and West Dundee, IL, Nov. 6, 2012 -- The American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA) and the Amusement & Music Operators Association (AMOA) are teaming up to raise funds to support victims of the recent Superstorm Sandy disaster that wreaked havoc on lives and livelihoods along the East Coast of the United States.
Added Andy Shaffer of Shaffer Services, who is currently AMOA's President: "Most of us have never experienced the kind of loss that so many are currently dealing with as a result of this massive disaster. One way to express our good fortune is to reach out to those who were not as lucky last week when the winds and water tore their worlds apart."
"The two trade groups, which routinely collaborate on programs and events like the annual AAMA-AMOA Amusement Expo, are, under the auspices of their respective charitable foundations, spearheading contributions to the American Red Cross.
AAMA's American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation (AAMCF) Board has approved a contribution of $10,000 and the leadership of AMOA's Coin-Op Cares Education and Charitable Foundation (COC) has also pledged a $10,000 donation to this effort.
Several member firms and individuals have quickly stepped up to join the fundraising effort, including TouchTunes, Incredible Technologies and Firestone Financial that have each matched the $10,000 donated by AAMA and AMOA's charities.
