Sega Giant Key Masters Roll Off Production Line As Demand Surges

Sega Key Master LONDON -- Sega Amusements reports that Giant Key Master, the latest development in its popular prize-vending lineup, is shipping again. The first production run sold out in March.

Optimized for bigger locations and larger, higher-value prizes, Giant Key Master targets bigger locations like malls and theaters. "Our first production run sold out before it even arrived," said Sega sales manager Vince Moreno.

Giant Key Master offers the same gameplay as the original Key Master, with higher capacity and visibility because it's twice the size. The game is two-sided, with a playfield and prize chute configured to handle bigger prizes accessible from the left side, while the right side closely resembles the original Key Master.

Each side has its own transaction device and set of player controls. Moreno explained that new large unit is essentially two Key Masters joined together -- with one important modification. Sega saw the need for a game able to vend larger prizes than those delivered by the original Key Master, which have a recommended maximum size of 8" W. x 2.75" D. x 10" H. (the size of an iPad). The left side of Giant Key Master, however, can vend prizes as big as 13" W. x 7" D. x 13" H." -- big enough for an Xbox, PlayStation or MacBook laptop computer.

Based in Chessington, England, Sega Amusements is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Sega Corp. Sega Amusements' U.S. team is based in Illinois. Information on Sega products may be found online at segaarcade.com, or requested by emailing to Tom.Keil, Vince.Moreno or Peter.Gustafson, all at @sau.sega.com. Gustafson can be contacted directly by phone at (224) 265-4281.
