VERNON HILLS, IL -- The first shipment of Golden Tee LIVE 2014, the much-anticipated course update from Incredible Technologies, began on Monday, Sept. 23. More than 11,000 updates were sent to thousands of amusement operators across the country, according to the manufacturer.
IT amusement sales vice-president Don Pesceone reported that preorder sales for this year's update were "exceptional." Golden Tee updates are known to rejuvenate earnings. The manufacturer holds its annual Awesome Draw raffle for operators who update their entire routes; prizes include new games, transfer cabinets and full kits.
The new 2014 courses have been created to appeal to the widest player base possible. They are Pelican Grove, Shady Acres, Turtle Island, Highland Links and Greek Hills.
"We employed some innovative data-mining techniques this year to determine what players like most," said Jim Zielinski, Golden Tee's master course designer. "The results are perhaps the most playable courses we have ever made, leaving all of the fun and challenge, while minimizing the frustration."
Among the new features in the 2014 version is support for vibrant, hi-def 1080p graphics, enhancing the visual experience. Starting in October, all Golden Tee LIVE 2014 Showpiece and full-kit cabinets will ship with a Zotac GeForce GT 640 video card that takes full advantage of this graphics improvement. IT recommends that operators upgrade their current Nighthawk hardware.
The 2014 release is also the 25th Anniversary edition of the world-renowned video golf simulator. Visit livewire.itsgames.com for a preview of the new courses. Call (855) 803-1621 to order.
