ORLANDO, FL -- LAI Games has introduced a number of games at the IAAPA Attractions Expo here. The never-before-seen amusement devices include the Color Match merchandiser and two novel redemption games, Piñata and UFO Express. A new 100% skill version of Balloon Buster also made its debut.
Color Match is a video merchandiser game of skill that challenges players to match colors on a rotating wheel to win a prize. The closer they get to the major prize, the faster the colors appear. Minor and win-every time prize options include tickets, capsule balls or small prizes vended on prize arms. Major prizes are displayed and vended from large window compartments.
Piñata is a novel video redemption game that rewards players with either tickets or candy. Players bash a real drum in an attempt to shatter the piñata in the 3D world pictured on the video display; these consist of seven unique environments and 28 individual animal-shaped piñatas. The game includes educational fun facts about the animals upon which the piñatas are modeled, accompanied by both English and Spanish voiceovers.
UFO Express is an extraterrestrial recreation that invites players to shoot alien flying saucers onto a turntable to earn tickets. Sinking the saucer into the Minor Bonus slot brings them closer to a chance to win the major jackpot. The colorful cabinet glows with LED illumination, including a green alien topper. The game features two player stations with an optional cooperative mode.
The popular Balloon Buster game now can be purchased as a 100% skill amusement device, and a conversion kit for the conventional model also is available. The kit consists of new target surrounds and software. The carnival-themed prize merchandiser is designed to exert nostalgic appeal on all audiences. Players must guide a dart through a hole and pop a balloon to win one of the five available prizes. Fast and simple gameplay encourages repeat attempts. Vintage-looking cabinet graphics and a carnival barker voice prompts add to the fun.
