Avengers Pinball

MELROSE PARK, IL -- The Avengers, the latest in Stern Pinball Inc.'s long line of flipper games inspired by popular comic superheroes, will be available in four versions.

Avengers Pro is the commercial model; there also are three collectible variants, each limited to 250 pieces. The short-run custom variants are Avengers Hulk Limited Edition, Avengers Limited Edition (both currently in production) and a Premium model that will debut in 2013.

The new Stern pinball game celebrates Marvel's long-running Avengers saga, which has attracted a worldwide following since it made its comic book debut half a century ago, and inspired a 2012 movie which has become the third-highest grossing film in history.

Stern's implementation presents a dynamic setting for six iconic Avenger heroes: Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye. Players help The Avengers assemble to defeat the notorious villain Loki.

The game features an animated, twisting and pounding, custom-molded Hulk figurine as well as drop targets and a spinning cube bonus, in addition to plenty of multiball action. All models come with a stainless steel launch ramp enhanced with backlit laser-cut Avengers logotype and a spinning cube (actually, tesseract) target, and all are supplied with a traditional coin door. The Pro model provides four balls standard; the LE versions offer six.

Avengers Pinball Playfields

Avengers Pro makes use of incandescent lighting; the three limited-edition models use LEDs. The LE versions also boast designer-signed playfields displaying George Gomez's signature under a hard-coat finish, as well as numbered plaques from one to 250 and a certificate of authenticity. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for Avengers Pro is $5,699; MSRP for Avengers LE and Hulk LE is $8,099. Pricing for Avengers Premium will be announced next year.

"Throughout the years, The Avengers have cultivated a loyal and energetic fan base," said Gary Stern, founder, chief executive and chairman of Stern Pinball. "Stern is pleased to have the opportunity to give these fans an Avengers pinball game to enjoy for years to come."
