BALTIMORE -- Barcoding Inc., a systems integrator, is offering an open-architecture key management solution that it says will provide flexibility and customization options for issuing and collecting keys more quickly and efficiently.
The CaptureTech Key Management Solution combines Gen2-compliant RFID (radio frequency identification) seals, or KeyCops, which hold the keys, making it compatible with any standard reader and eliminating need for a physical connection to the seal or an electronic cabinet.
Users can track keys in and out of buildings -- not just in and out of cabinets -- to extend the solution's capabilities beyond four walls. Plus, with the solution's free, open-source software, users can further configure and customize their deployment and add an electronic cabinet, if needed, later on down the road.
"Typical key management systems require an electronic cabinet and leave little room for customization or expansion," said Barcoding Inc. president Jay Steinmetz. "This open-architecture Key Management Solution is the first of its kind, putting the power into the hands of the user to design a system that works best to make their business more efficient, accurate and connected."
