SYDNEY, Australia -- NetComm Wireless Ltd said it has added the Vodafone MachineLink 3G Plus to Vodafone's integrated M2M terminals. The device enables connectivity for equipment in the vending, healthcare, agriculture and energy sectors.

Developed by Sydney-based NetComm Wireless for London-based Vodafone, the MachineLink 3G Plus device allows businesses to upgrade from legacy serial connectivity to IP connectivity with access to a broader range of connection choices.

The 3G penta-band modem and router with built-in GPS is compatible with Vodafone and Vodafone M2M partner networks worldwide. The device supports multiple communication protocols and interface options with features including Ethernet, serial and USB 2.0 ports.

Designed for flexible customization, the MachineLink 3G Plus features an embedded software development kit and open source Linux OS.
