HOT SPRINGS, AR -- The Arkansas Vending Council held its annual convention here in early March, highlighted by its annual board meeting and a presentation from U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR).
Cotton, who is currently running for the Senate, addressed a number of issues faced by Congress, including taxes, regulatory reform, healthcare and the economy. He then discussed his campaign agenda for the Senate race and engaged industry members in a question and answer session.
AVC lobbyists Bruce Hawkins and Camie Boggess of DBH Consulting provided a state legislative update and National Automatic Merchandising Association legislative director Sheree Edwards discussed the vending association's national efforts.
"We are focused on strengthening AVC's presence in Arkansas through a goal-oriented legislative agenda and relationship-building with our elected officials," said AVC president Bill Tervin. "We were honored to host Rep. Cotton and discuss legislative issues, business concerns and our positive contributions to Arkansas' economy."
