SANTA ANA, CA -- Caféjo has taken the wraps off its My French Press, a manually operated brewer that prepares a single cup of coffee using a K-Cup, pod or ground coffee.
To brew a K-Cup, the user inserts the portion pack into the My French Press cylinder and attaches its lower cap. The next step is to heat 10 fl.oz. of water in the microwave-safe pitcher and pour it into the top of the French press. To finish, the user gently presses the piston all the way down, which pushes the water through the sprayhead. Caféjo says the brewer meets Specialty Coffee Association of America Gold Cup brewing standards
It can be used to brew the full range of K-Cups, including tea, hot chocolate and milk-based products.
Caféjo president Patrick Rolfes says it sells for a fraction of the cost of traditional single-cup machines, and is ideal for use as a personal brewer in workplace environments.
All components of My French Press are BPA-free. Each brewer comes with ground coffee and pod adaptors, which will also work in Keurig machines. They retail for $29.99 to $39.99.
