MISSISSAUGA, ON, Canada -- Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee Inc. reported that unit production for its RealCup single-serve capsules has just reached the 25 million mark.
Launched last August, RealCup capsules, patented by Mother Parkers, are compatible with Keurig K-Cup single-serve brewers.
The portion packs are delivering several leading coffee brands to the single-cup arena, including its own Brown Gold and Martinson, along with its Higgins & Burke tea brand. Marley Coffee, led by reggae legend Bob Marley's son, Rohan, also packages its coffees in RealCups through a partnership with Mother Parker's.
RealCups are distributed to office coffee and food services providers across North America. They are also available to consumers online at Amazon and at select retail outlets in Canada and the U.S.
Mother Parkers, the fourth-largest roaster in North America, said the popularity of its RealCup is driving rapid growth in production and that it plans to expand the number of coffee and tea blends and flavors available in the portion packs in 2013.
