Pepsi Bottling Ventures Acquires Charlotte Territory From PepsiCo

RALEIGH, NC -- Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC has completed its acquisition of franchise territories in five counties around the greater Charlotte area from PepsiCo. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition is part of a larger deal between Pepsi Bottling Ventures and PepsiCo. In March, PepsiCo agreed to swap five counties in North Carolina -- Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Stanly and Anson -- for 11 counties in Vermont and 18 counties in Idaho. | SEE STORY

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is a joint venture between Suntory International and PepsiCo (which has 35% ownership). It is the largest privately held bottler of Pepsi-Cola products in North America, currently operating 22 bottling and distribution facilities that serve consumers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.
