AAMALAS VEGAS -- The American Amusement Machine Association will present its 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award to operator, game inventor and manufacturer Richard Oltmann of Family Fun Cos. The honor will be bestowed at the upcoming Amusement Expo here. AAMA said the award recognizes "creative qualities for producing new ideas ... ethical strength, as well as emotional, intellectual and moral qualities."

During his 48 years in the industry, Oltmann has built a 2,000-machine street route and six family fun parks. He also designed 57 redemption games. He currently owns three family fun parks in the Chicago market, continues to design games and is an occasional speaker at industry seminars.

"It is my passion to give back all that I have learned to make this industry a better place than when I started," the honoree said.
