RICHMOND, VA -- The Virginia Automatic Merchandising Association will host its winter membership meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at The Berkeley Hotel here. State Sen. Ryan T. McDougle (R-Hanover), majority caucus chairman, is among the guest speakers who will address Virginia's trade members.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a networking coffee reception, followed by Sen. McDougle's speech. The state politician plans to discuss how the 2012 Senate will be organized with 20 Republicans and 20 Democrats, among other session issues. In November, McDougle was reelected to his third term with 80% of the vote. He serves on several committees, commissions and taskforces.

VAMA legislative consultant Jeff Smith of The Smith Group (Richmond) is also scheduled for a turn at the podium. He will provide an update on state legislation that might impact vending operators.

VAMA board and committee meetings will follow Smith's presentation. Then, following lunch, meeting participants will visit the General Assembly building to meet with state legislators.

VAMA members and nonmembers can register at virginiavend.org; or RSVP by emailing Beth Bowen at beth@virginiavend.org by Feb. 3, or calling (919) 387-1221.

VAMA has reserved a block of hotel rooms at The Berkeley Hotel at $112.
