DJ Max Technika

LOS ANGELES -- New from Pentavision Global Inc. is DJ MAX Technika 2, a music-based videogame that has been in development for three years. In gameplay, which is said to be similar to the scrolling note matching of Guitar Hero, patrons use their fingers to tap musical notes moving across a blue line on the device's touchscreen.

Not unlike the original Technika, which has built a cult following, the new game can connect to the Internet to support a global leaderboard system and product updates. A new "duo-mixing" mode allows two players to cooperate on one machine by dividing the screen into left and right zones. It also features full-motion video in the background and 100-plus pop songs.

Technika fans can also purchase IC cards that can be used to store their progress and preferences. Points saved on the card can be redeemed at the MAX Shop for avatars, DJ icons, notes, emblems and other effects.

DJ MAX Technika 2 will be on display at the upcoming IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, FL, in Pentavision's booth.

Pentavision Global Inc. was formed in August following a merger agreement between South Korea's Pentavision Entertainment and Gardena, CA's Pipeline Games Inc. [see story]
