DENVER -- Marley Coffee has added Smile Jamaica to its single-serve RealCup line. Defined by 20% Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and 80% Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee, it's the first blend of the prized beans authorized for sale in North America, according to Marley Coffee.

Certification to create and sell the Smile Jamaica blend was provided by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica following Marley's U.S. launch of its Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. The roaster reportedly distributed about 30.5 tons (61,000 lbs.) of JBM coffee within the last year, with sales anchored by distribution into key retailers like Safeway.

Christopher Gentles, outgoing director general of the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica, said Marley's placement of its coffees onto North American supermarket shelves justified the board' s decision to grant the certification to the company. "Marley Coffee is well qualified to create the first Jamaican Blue Mountain blend for consumers," he said.
