SALT LAKE CITY -- OK Manufacturing Inc., a leading provider of bulk-vending and prize-merchandising equipment, said its new bulk vender, tentatively called the Dollar-Bounce-A-Roo, is now available. The unit updates the firm's standard Bounce-A-Roo vender with a bill acceptor.

Measuring 12.5 ins. long x 17.5 ins. wide and 50.25 ins. high, the unit comes equipped with a choice of Pyramid Technologies' bill acceptor with a 300-bill capacity or an optional, higher capacity, MEI (Mars) acceptor with a 500-bill capacity, along with a Happ Controls coin acceptor.

Requiring a 110V. electrical outlet, the Dollar-Bounce-A-Roo features an adjustable vend price that can be set between 25¢ and $5. It can dispense self-vended or encapsulated merchandise ranging in size from 1 in. to 2.3 ins. in diameter.

The machine's large globe can hold as many as 500 2-in. capsules or high-bounce balls. Plans for a retrofit, which would allow for 3-in. and 4-in. capsules, are currently in development.

OK's Kurt Ostler said, "It has been doing extremely well on tests. What I've heard is that it's doing not quite double, but 80% more in revenues."

He continued, "I really think this is the right vender now because product costs are so high and it's hard to find that 50¢ vend item, plus costs are up for operators across the board, so they have to improve their profit margins."

According to Ostler, field tests have indicated the machine performs well in bowling alleys, movie theaters and other leisure-time locations.
