NEW YORK CITY -- Manhattan Amusement, based here and owned by John Cullen, has settled a lawsuit brought by the Amusement And Music Owners Association of New York Inc. for violating business contracts copyrighted by AMOA-NY. Penalties paid by the operator and related settlement terms were not disclosed.

"The parties agreed to settle this matter in a manner consistent with recognition of the validity of the AMOA-NY copyrights," said AMOA-NY executive director Danny Frank. "This demonstrates that AMOA-NY copyrights can be enforced."

Frank added that AMOA-NY will continue its investigations and enforcement actions regarding contract violations. "Those parties who are using AMOA-NY copyrighted material without proper authorization would do best to come forward to our organization," he warned. "We will try to be cooperative in reaching a plan with them to achieve compliance."

The regional trade association announced its lawsuit against Manhattan Amusements in September. | SEE STORY
