AVON, CT -- The Connecticut Vending Association will hold a golf outing on Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Blue Fox Run Golf Course here.

Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon. Box lunches will be served. The 18-hole tournament will be followed by a cocktail reception, dinner buffet and awards ceremony. Registration for the event costs $165, or $75 for dinner only.

The association is seeking sponsors for the event. Golf hole sponsorship costs $100 a hole; lunch and cocktail sponsorships cost $150 each; and a dinner sponsorship is $200.

CVA will use the proceeds from the event to continue its fight in the state Legislature against higher taxes and the threat of more stringent laws governing the vending industry. The association's recent political victories include preserving tax exemptions on products sold through vending machines and defeating a law that would have closed noncommercial rest stops on three highways in the state.
