LONDON -- British amusement arcades suffered a 10% drop in revenues between April 2011 and March 2012, while gambling industry revenues increased, according to a report published by Intergame, a trade magazine.

Figures from the latest report by the UK's Gambling Commission indicate a 5% uptick in revenues for the betting, bingo and casino sectors during the year.

The total number of amusement machines in British family entertainment centers (FECs) also dropped 7% during the year.

As of Sept. 30, the British industry comprised about 1,820 gambling centers and 315 FECs, owned or managed by a combined total of 589 equipment-operating entities.
