MALVERN, PA -- Maeve McKenna Duska, senior vice-president of sales for USA Technologies Inc., has been recognized by Connected World magazine in that publication's inaugural "Women in IoT Marketing" honor roll. The new listing celebrates the women responsible for publicizing noteworthy advancements in the "connected world."
The 2016 award acknowledges Duska's creative approach to marketing and communications, including campaigns that have enhanced public relations, customer service and sales for USAT.
Connected World, which has celebrated women developing or using new technologies, conceived its new annual listing out of the conviction that the role women have played in marketing positions to expand the knowledge and business of the IoT deserves to be recognized. "These women have gone above and beyond to shape products and services in ways that appeal to both tech-savvy professionals and newcomers to connected products," said CW editorial director Peggy Smedley.
Duska, who began her career with wireless cashless payment pioneer Stitch Networks in 1999, joined USAT in 2002. She thus has been at the helm of the company's marketing and communications team during a pivotal industry transformation.
One of the most important functions of marketing at USAT is educating retailers using unattended points of sale in historically cash-based businesses on the importance of moving to a "connected world," in which data and cashless payments help increase operating efficiencies and provide revenue opportunities. At USAT, Duska leads this data-driven conversation to help move the market in the direction of 100% connected machines.
The tribute to Duska comes shortly after news that USA Technologies was honored with the IoT Evolution Business Impact Award, presented at the IoT Evolution Conference and Expo in Las Vegas.
