MALVERN, PA -- The latest ePort features an interactive display that delivers nutritional information and enables remote refunds, loyalty programs and multimedia-marketing campaigns at the point of sale. Called ePort Interactive, USA Technologies Inc.'s latest cashless device incorporates some of the latest features of Vendscreen, an interactive vending technology it acquired earlier this year.
The new ePort Interactive platform and related touchscreen technology enhance the existing ePort Connect Service, and join the ePort G9 payment system in USAT's product portfolio. Both offer PCI DSS-compliant security, and support traditional magnetic stripe credit and debit cards, as well as NFC mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Android Pay.
USAT said vending operators can leverage ePort Interactive to strengthen customer loyalty and drive recurring sales by engaging with their customers at points of purchase by means of coupons, digital advertising and rewards, along with additional benefit of USAT's More and Premier Services programs.
EPort Interactive displays onscreen nutritional facts to the vending machine patron prior to purchase. Onscreen advertising incentivizes consumer-purchasing behavior and enables the use of promotional codes for discounts or giveaways.
Consumers can use the new ePort's onscreen assistance feature to receive digital refunds with unique credit codes that can be sent by SMS text message and used immediately at the machine.
Cross-platform compatibility enables seamless integration with all major vending management systems for planogram information, including full integration with VendMax, Cantaloupe and VendSys. Export functionality also is well suited for Parlevel and Vagabond's solutions, USAT said.
USAT said its new technology will begin to deliver enhanced VMS integration to the approximately 6,000 ePort interactive units already deployed in the field. The company reports that it has nearly 11,000 customers and 369,000 connections to its ePort Connect system.
"The ePort Interactive platform enables [our operator] customers to engage with consumers through loyalty programs and onscreen functionality, providing a superior [user] experience through instant refunds, nutritional information and feedback capabilities," said USAT chief services officer Michael K. Lawlor. "Additionally, CPG companies and retailers now have the ability to impact consumer behavior in real time -- at the point of sale. We believe this platform is truly heralding the next generation of technology for the unattended retail market."
