MALVERN, PA -- USA Technologies Inc. has taken the wraps off its latest cashless payment device for vending machines and other service equipment. USAT says its new ePort Connect G10-S is the first payment device for unattended small-ticket retail to be certified for use on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network.
EPort G10-S arrives ready to accept USAT's next-generation More loyalty and payroll deduction platform through Apple Pay. USAT demonstrated More's integration with Apple Pay at the Computer Electronics Show in early January. | SEE STORY
USAT said G10-S will be available nationwide in February. The G10-S is designed to capitalize on advances in both wireless and smartphone technology. It offers enhanced functionality for payment and consumer engagement applications, which require higher wireless speeds and larger data loads.
The latest ePort will also enable the cashless payment giant to support add-on features as technology and customer requirements evolve. Another major advantage of upgrading to LTE is that it provides a minimum 10-year network life span, according to USAT.
The ePort G10-S operates on a stronger wireless signal. It has a second "diversity antenna," enabling the G10-S to connect to wireless networks over greater distances than devices with a single antenna.
Through USAT's augmented More loyalty program, brands can reach targeted consumers, impacting their buying behavior through their smartphones. The push messaging features, enhanced by new functionality in the G10-S, can even reward consumers instantly for acting on a message. These capabilities are designed to help vending operators increase sales and participation at the point of sale, collect and report on purchasing behavior for brands, and reward consumers in a relevant and targeted manner.
USAT's platform also gives vending operators the ability to accept credit, debit, Apple, Android or Samsung Pay; many closed-loop loyalty, campus cards and payroll deduct programs can integrate with USAT's More program, too. EPort devices are ready to accept payments in a PCI Level 1 secure environment and the G10-S reportedly processes the transaction faster than ever before.
USAT's ePort Connect provides cashless payments and telemetry at nearly 450,000 locations nationwide, according to the company.
