ATLANTA -- DS Waters of America Inc., one of the country's largest suppliers of bottled water to offices and homes, has agreed to acquire The Standard Cos. Inc., a nationwide coffee service and water company. The transaction is expected to close in late March.
DS Waters, headquartered in Atlanta, delivers its bottled water to more than a million home, office and retail locations across the U.S. Its brands include Alhambra, Belmont Springs, Crystal Springs, Mount Olympus, Sierra Springs and Sparkletts. The company has been expanding beyond bottled water delivery with a growing office coffee service business under the Roast2Coast banner and its My Utapia water filtration service.
The Standard Cos., based in New Orleans, provides office coffee and pure water services to workplaces, restaurants and other foodservice organizations. Its three business units include Standard Coffee Service, the flagship that has serviced commercial customers for 45 years; StandGuard Quality Water Assurance filtered water service, established in 1991; and Relyant Coffee Equipment Services, started in 2009 to provide equipment installation and maintenance services for coffee brewers and filtered water dispensers.
DS Waters said the acquisition will enhance its offerings and add new service territories to its national footprint.
