WOODBINE, IA -- New from Woodbine Manufacturing Co. is the TKT Tuckunder Series of liftgates for flatbed, stake and van body trucks. The company, which has been producing Tommy Gate hydraulic lifts here for almost half a century, reports that the new TKT line represents its first tuckunder design.
TKT liftgates feature a state-of-the-art, wide-arm, dual-cylinder design, along with numerous installation, operation and service features engineered to maximize both operator and vehicle upfitter convenience.
TKT models initially are being offered with self-leveling wedge-style platforms (extruded aluminum or steel treadplate) and lifting capacities of 2,500 lbs. or 3,000 lbs. Bed extensions will fit either 96" or 102" wide bodies.
Standard features include hydraulic power-down for quick, consistent platform deployment and an underride impact guard to protect against vehicle underride, as well as 24" rubber dock bumpers to protect the bed extension from direct contact with the dock surface. A snubber kit secures the stored platform. A low-profile, fixed toggle control incorporates a five-minute inactivity shutoff. The TKT liftgate is supplied with full-length 2-gauge power cable and ground.
During the TKT R&D process, Tommy Gate's engineering and customer service departments obtained a great deal of feedback from their network of industry resources. This user and dealer input led to many of TKT's specifications and features.
