CHATTANOOGA, TN -- VendoMax will unveil what it is says are the world's first completely sustainable solar-powered beverage vending machines the National Automatic Merchandising Association's OneShow this week in Las Vegas.
The "grid-free" VendoMax machines can be located in almost any solar environment, including fairs, concerts, sporting events and bus stops, according to officials. Solar panels power the machines, which can hold and dispense up to 2,000 drinks. VendoMax soda machines are available with or without wheels.
VendoMax was founded by Rob Creswell, president of a Chattanooga industrial supply company, and Mark Hixson, a local printer. They turned to vending as a solution for dispensing industrial supplies, which inspired them to pursue a solar-powered beverage vender. They approached Chattanooga-based Engineered Mechanical Systems to design the concept.
The VendoMax founders said they plan to continue to manufacture the machines locally, with full production expected to begin within the next three months.
