WASHINGTON -- Rep. Bob Turner (R-NY) recently returned from a clandestine four-day tour of U.S. military operations in Afghanistan. Turner, himself an Army veteran, reported that a major concern for some of the troops is finding a job when they return home following their tours of duty.
Veterans Day is celebrated on Nov. 11, and some American businesses are trying to put them on their payrolls. Those businesses that hire a veteran may also be eligible for special employer incentives, ranging from tax credits to supplemental salary for on the job training.
