SHELTON, CT -- Tomra of North America, a subsidiary of Norway's Tomra Systems ASA, is expanding its T63 reverse vending machine line with a compact model for small grocers, convenience stores, liquor stores and other retailers with limited floor space.

The T63 TriSort (60" W. x 74" H. x 41" D. ) can capture aluminum, plastic and glass containers at speeds up to 30 containers a minute. All materials are compacted and stored in separate compartments to maximize storage capacity. Its ability to accept all materials in one machine makes it more advanced than earlier machines, Tomra said.

Consumers simply drop their recyclables into the receptacle and the machine prints a receipt for cash redemption at the location. It can also print coupons and other incentives to prompt recyclers to spend more inside the store. In addition, the machine can be decorated with billboard-quality messages from the retailer or third-party sponsors.

The T63 TriSort features Tomra's Sure Return recognition technology, which identifies the commodity being recycled, verifies if it is an acceptable container and processes it accordingly. It categorizes acceptable packages according to bottler and keeps accounting records for stores with bottle collection compliance responsibilities.

The new model joins other Tomra RVMs, including the UNO, that can be viewed here.
