PHOENIX -- Janette Carter, a well-known broker to the vending industry for 25 years, has joined Fixturelite as national sales manager.
Arizona-based Fixturelite is a full-service micromarket design company that sells market fixtures and equipment bundles. It offers retail display solutions, coolers, freezers, security systems, lighting, accessories and other equipment, along with design services.
Carter worked for 12 years at regional brokerage firm Atnip Co. She went out on her own to establish Focus 365 (Anaheim, CA), and served as the firm's managing partner for 10 years. The company's sales territory spanned California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Colorado.
"It was a risky move to establish the first new brokerage company within our industry that was female managed, however, so many industry peers supported us, that we quickly saw success," Carter recalled.
In 2014, Carter sold her company to Burdette Beckmann Inc., a nationwide vend broker, headquartered in Hollywood, FL. She remained with BBI for two years.
Prior to working in the vending industry, Carter was in the interior design business.
"The office breakroom, especially with regard to micromarkets and office coffee service, is changing rapidly, from a focus on function, to one of creating an experience for the workplace employee," said Fixturelite cofounder Steve Orlando. "Janette's industry experience as a broker for the past 25 years allowed her to work with most of our industry suppliers, distributors and operators."
